FS2002/FS2004 Soko(AVIOANE) J-22 Orao The Yugoslavia
aviation industry started a program for the design of a replacement
for the F-84 Thunderjets which were in the service with the
Yugoslavia air force at that time. Romania was also looking for a
replacement of it's older Mig-17's. The joint program was given the
name YUROM (YUgoslavia-ROMania). The Yugoslavia aircraft was
designed as the Orao(Eagle), while in Romania the plane was given
the designation IAR-93. This aircraft is a twin-engine, turbojet,
high-wing aircraft intended for performing close support, ground
attack and tactical reconnaissance missions within the zone of the
front and also in the enemy rear and can also be used as low level
interceptor. Three kind of models(Early type, Latest type clean and
with weapon) and three kind of paint examples are included. by

Where is the Croatia a country?
Countries of Europe are far for me who lives in a continental edge.
Countries named Yugoslavia, Romania, and the Croatia are the unknown worlds.
The making request of this aircraft came from the Croatia.
The shape that is very smart, settled well is had.
The undercarriage looks like F-1 or T-2 of Japan.
I thought that I seemed to be able to fly about the sky lightly if it was this
However, because this aircraft seems to have a detailed variation, of which
country which type is one is not understood well.
The much more, there are a lot of parts by the guess for painting.
If it is wrong............Uuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm...............
Soko/CNIAR J-22/IAR-93 Orao (Eagle) is a twin-engine, turbojet, high-wing
aircraft intended for performing close support, ground attack and tactical
reconnaissance missions within the zone of the front and also in the enemy rear.
Orao can also be used as low level interceptor.
After the successful development of the G-2 Galeb (Sea Gull) and J-1 Jastreb (Hawk)
aircraft, the Yugoslav aviation industry started a program for the design of a
replacement for the F-84 Thunderjets which were in the service with the Yugoslav
air force at that time.
Romania was also looking for a replacement of it's older Mig-17's.
The joint program was given the name YUROM (YUgoslavia-ROMania).
The program called for a transonic twin-engine plane, intended for support of
units at the front and for assault operations, that would be simple to operate
and easy to maintain.
A secondary role was envisaged as a fighter-interceptor in combating helicopters,
transport planes and fighter-bombers.
The aircraft should be simple to operate and easy to maintain under field
The Viper Mk 632-47 turbojet of Rolls-Royce were chosen for the power plant.
Later, it was modified by Yugoslav scientists with reheat chamber (Mk 633-41).
Both Romania and Yugoslavia built a single seat prototype which performed their
first flight on the same date, 31 October 1974.
The Yugoslav aircraft was designed as the Orao, while in Romania the plane was
given the designation IAR-93.
In series production the plane was designated the J-22, with NJ-22 for the
The two seat prototypes made their first flight on 29 January 1977.
Due to late development of reheat chamber, the enhanced prototype SY-1 with
Yugoslav designed afterburner flew for the first time on 20 October 1983.
The Romanian prototype flew 2 years later.
Each of the manufacturer built 15 pre-production aircraft.
Series production began in Romania at CNIAR (later IAv Craiova, now Avioane) in
1979, in Yugoslavia at SOKO (back section of fuselage, ailerons, leading egde
flaps and passive jamming devices contaners were produced at Utva) in 1980.

[ About the installation ]
The airframe must copy the J-22 Orao folder as it is in the Aircraft folder of
FS2002 or FS2004.
Please copy all files in the gauges folder onto the gauge in the Gauges folder
of FS2002 or FS2004.
A general gauge is saved for the gauge bundled this time.
The Gauges of kingair,Beech_Baron and GPS are not bundled.
Please set up it by yourself.

[ About the directions point in FS2004 ]
This aircraft model is made by using FSDS Ver2.24.
Therefore, it is possible to play basically in FS2004(FS9).
For a wide large-scale aircraft, the distortion is caused and the phenomenon of
the aerofoil tip's disappearing happens in the spot shooting mode.
If this phenomenon happens, Please switch to the spot shooting mode by using
other small aircraft.
Afterwards, if this aircraft is selected, it is normally displayed.
Please give mail to the following mail address when there is a recommendation of
making the opinion and the thing that doesn't come.
