 FS2004: FS2002/FS2004 Bell-Boeing V22 Osprey

FSX Military jet aircrafts
FS2002/FS2004 Bell-Boeing V22 Osprey USMC THIS MODEL WORKS IN FS9 AND FS2K2 (MUST CHANGE THE GPS SECTION IN PANEL CFG). 04Jul29: Uploaded to FltSimCom and SimviationCom by Charles Backus, cbackus3 at hotmail.com. mostly because Nels Anderson, FSCom, asked me if I would share this AC with our FS community, as there is apparently a lot of intrest shown in this AC. I believe in the 'freeware' system established by Nels and FltSimCom (and others). So this is my opportunity to contribute. Without Nels hard work and dedicaton we would not have this trememdous resourse for us to use and enjoy.

AIRCRAFT.CFG AND V22.AIR FILES- FOR V-22 OSPREY, BY
VLAD ZHYHULSKIY ('v22.zip')-plus SOUND files. May 15, 2004.
by C. Backus, napamule, HC126NA, cbackus3@hotmail.com.

I have inclosed new (MODIFIED) aircraft.cfg and V22.air
file for Zhyhulskiy's V-22 Osprey. In order to avoid any errors
on loading (initialization type) I did not rename the AC, or the files,
more for FS9 than 2k2.

I AM WAITING TO HEAR FROM Mr ZHYHULSKIY, FOR APPROVAL
OF THESE MODIFICATIONS. IF HE REFUSES/OBJECTS, THEN I
WILL REMOVE FROM UPLOAD SITES. (ONLY UPLOAD TO:
HOVERCONTROL, SIMVIATION, AND FLIGHTSIM - NO OTHER(S))

Be sure to make a backup copy of your cfg and air file before you
replace or overwrite. Same thing with sound folder/files.

I am NOT incloseing the 'v22.zip' files, to keep file size small. I
did include the SOUND, as it's good, and 'appropriate' for this AC,
but don't know (at this time) the author's name (orig for FS98).

The cfg and air file will work in BOTH FS2k2 and FS9. The top
speed in 2k2 will be much higher than the 285 kt 'cruise' speed,
but, at 71% power, speed in both will be 'just right'.

The 'Panel_Lear' is a modern panel. This SUPERIOR Model does have lights, for those 'night raids'. On Lear panel you have the switches.

Please read Vlad's 'orig.readme.txt' (enclosed) for instructions
on how to fly this AC.

Basically you take off, and land, SIMULAR to a helicopter, with the
flaps used to give you 'LIFT', and like regular flaps-to slow you
down, as when on landing approach, or to do short 'hops'. Above
100 kts, you can fly it like a fixed wing. With 'auto cordination' OFF
you can manuver it, depending on your joy and/or 'skill' (heehee).
It's HARD to turn during taxi, with best turns at 2 kts, and use of
throttle/differential brakes. (Slew is 'ok', with some rev up, but it
will not take off at 300 kts, like other AC's.)

Use +15 trim pitch for take off, with full flaps(F8). Landing, with 3
notchs of flaps, and +15 trim. Landing will be at around 15-35 kts.
You MUST use UP trim for 'hovering' and landing. The more flaps
you use (to reduce speed) the more TRIM you need! So, the throttle
will have a slight 'delay'. This AC's 'wings' are 90% flaps, giving it
lots of vertical 'inertia'. Takes getting used to-practice, practice.

If you want to use spoiler ('/'), you will need to use -50 (yes,
DOWN trim) and push forward on stick, PLUS throttle for attitude.
Speed will be around 40-60 kts. Hover will be around 15 kts.

You can 'dial up' some 20 kt winds (in weather) and if you then fly
into the wind, the V22 CAN do 'hover' over one spot-with practice!

At the start, CHECK fuel. 60% (2100 lbs) fuel is 'just right' (2 hrs flt).
Fuel in 2k2 would be 33/44/55/44/33 for the different tanks. Spot
view setting is 1x/99ft/11ft. Have fun.
Charles Backus : cbackus3@hotmail.com : HC126NA : 'napamule'.

Note: I will NOT provide any 'support' for this AC, so do NOT email
me-I don't have the time-THANK YOU. Use files at your own risk, as
I will not be responsible for any annomolies suffered by yourself, or
by your computer. These files are virus checked by hotmail, but can
not verify, so use your checker, if there is any doubt. OK? OK!
