The Douglas X-3 Stiletto was a 1950s United States experimental jet aircraft with a slender fuselage and a long tapered nose, manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company.
Its primary mission was to investigate the design features of an aircraft suitable for sustained supersonic speeds, which included the first use of titanium in major airframe components.
It was, however, seriously underpowered for its purpose and could not even exceed Mach 1 in level flight.

The Douglas X-3 Stiletto was sleekest of the early experimental aircraft, but its research accomplishments were not those originally planned. The goal of the aircraft was ambitious - it was to take off from the ground under its own power, climb to high altitude, maintain a sustained cruise speed of Mach 2, then land under its own power.
The aircraft was also to test the feasibility of low-aspect ratio wings, and the large-scale use of titanium in aircraft structures.

Construction of a pair of X-3s was approved on 30 June 1949. During development, the X-3's planned Westinghouse J46 engines were unable to meet the thrust, size and weight requirements, so lower-thrust Westinghouse J34 turbojets were substituted, producing only 4,900 pounds of thrust with afterburner rather than the planned 7,000 pounds.
The first aircraft was completed and delivered to Edwards Air Force Base, California, on 11 September 1952. Due to both engine and airframe problems, the partially completed second aircraft was cancelled, and its components were used for spare parts.

3. [ About the installation ]

The airframe must copy the X-3 Stiletto folder as it is in the Aircraft folder of FS2002 or FS2004.

---------X-3 Stiletto

Please copy all files in the gauges folder onto the gauge in the Gauges folder of FS2002 or FS2004.
A general gauge is saved for the gauge bundled this time.
The gauges of GPS are not bundled.
Please setup it by yourself.

For use Reflect paint parts.
If you use FS2004, the mirror finished surface painting looks white.
Please overwrite to "texture.Ref" folda and use the same name file stored in "texture.Ref2004" folda.

4. [ About the operations ]

Shift+"E" = Exit-Door Open/Shut
"/"(Key for Spoiler and Air brake) = Drag chute Out/In

A special key operation is not used for this model.

-----------------------------------------------------------
5. [ About free software ]

All aircraft that I made are free software.
The reprint and the repaint may go freely.
However, please defend the following conditions.

1.The change in contents of this file is prohibited.
(Please distribute it like the Zip file of the current state when distributing it. )
2.Please neither reverse-assembly nor never remodel(convert) it of the aircraft model.
3.Please don't bundle my airframe(MDL file) in the package of your works when you open the repaint to the public.
(Please open only the texture to the public. )
4.Don't use DXT format for making texture.
Please make it by the format that everyone can change.
It is necessary to be able to read and change with usual drawing software.
5.It is prohibited to bundle and to open a new panel to the public to my aircraft model.
(Please open only the panel to the public.
It is included in this file, and remodeling the panel that uses the panel background and the change in the panel background are prohibited. )
6.I maintain the copyright of the aircraft model and the panel background.
7.The copyright of the gauge belongs to the author.

---------------------------------------------------------
6. [ About the directions point in FS2004 and FSX]

This aircraft model is made by using FSDS Ver2.24.
Therefore, it is possible to play basically in FS2004(FS9) and FSX(FS10).
However........!!
In FS2004.
For a wide large-scale aircraft, the distortion is caused and the phenomenon of the aerofoil tip's disappearing happens in the spot shooting mode.
If this phenomenon happens, Please switch to the spot shooting mode by using other small aircraft.
Afterwards, if this aircraft is selected, it is normally displayed.

And........
In FSX.
Because gauges do not correspond to FSX, the gauges in the cockpit are not displayed.
Please you looks for a suitable gauges and setup Panel.cfg by yourself.
Sorry...............

Please Notice

I like military aircrafts. Especially, fighter!!
But, It is because the shape is unique and the manoeuverability is good.
I like aircraft that can freely fly in the big sky.
However............I hate war and combatting.
When I thinks the airframe that I made launches the bullet and the missile, I become scary.
Therefore, I'm prohibiting convert of my airframe for CFS.
If it is possible, I am wishing my airframe not to be used in CFS.
Though you might be said "Because it's simulation world"..........
Please..........Please.......

Please give mail to the following mail address when there is a recommendation of making the opinion and the thing that doesn't come.
