ABOUT THE SCENERY:
This airport was another request from a fellow flightsimmer that I was more than glad to do. I was able to get a good view of the layout of the field from Google Earth, but there are little in the way of pictures on the internet. Therefore, this scenery though the layout is fairly accurate, is not meant to be taken for being photographically accurate. It was a pleasure and fun to design Ft Collins and I hope you enjoy the scenery. For those with Lago's FSE, there are a number of cars and trucks moving on the highway and roadways in the scenery.
Below you will find a list of libraries I used to create the scenery. You may have to download some or all of the list. There is another list of libraries which covers a wider range of objects.
Here is a list of the libraries I used for this scenery. However, I recommend you look at the list following this one and download the libraries you do not have.
EZHangars.zip ezhouz.zip fs9_custom_buildings_ss_1.zip fs9_custom_buildings_ss_2.zip db_prlit.zip
rwy12_lib1_v1.2.zip fs9_custom_objects_ss_1.zip ga_planes_1.zip ramplit3.zip ez-extra-objects-1.zip
ez-extra-objects-1-textures.zip rwy12-l2.zip rwy12_lib2_v1.2.zip lens_ez_scenery.zip lens_ez_scenery_textures.zip lobjects 1.zip lobjects 4.zip.
The new objects I created for this scenery are included with this download. They well unzip as Loneys Objects 9 found inside the Addon Scenery folder.
TEXTURES AND LIBRARIES:
For the scenery objects textures, try the following links:
EZ-Scenery Download Files
lobjects_9.zip*(Included with this download)
I suggest that you download as many libraries/textures as possible.
I have included the objects I newly created and used in this scenery in the file lobjects_9.zip. The folder, Loneys objects 9 along with the sub folders should be in the Addon Scenery folder=> addon scenery/Loneys objects 9 and activated like any other scenery.
Once again, have a good time with this one. Happy landings!!!
*Download these files from my website listed below.
The aircraft used for the scenery startup is default Mooney Bravo
The aircraft used in the flight plans are listed below:
All aircraft in the flight plans are default with the exception of the one listed below.
AC# Type/Livery Zip File
236 McDonnellDouglas MD82/Allegiant Air allgmd82.zip
Of course, you can exchange the aircraft for ones you like. There is a copy of the flight plans source file included.
Leo Sultzman who suggested this scenery. The developers who created the objects used in this scenery. Thank you.
After receiving many emails, I find that I am a little off the beaten path. My FS file structure is not the default setup. So as you read these instructions, keep in mind that most of the files will work from anywhere as long as FS knows where they are. If your file structure is C:Programs FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9 it's ok. Just place or check to verify that certain files are in certain folders. I will refer to the above structure as the DEFAULT FILE STRUCTURE, and the following file structure as MY FILE STRUCTURE. Which is: D:fs2004 and my scenery files are in D:fs2k4_scenery.
I have it this way because I've also done scenery for fs2002 and I didn't want to get the two versions mixed up. (Bet'cha can't guess what the folder name for the fs2002 scenery is). So in explaining where the files go, I'll try not to confuse anyone, but if I do, please contact me for clarification.
AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE kfnl_v1.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE.
If you don't have them already, download Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2x and AFCAD2x. Follow the instructions from the files and install them onto your system. While you're at it, download the texture files necessary for this scenery and put them into the main FS texture folder. They are: ASDv2.1, Nova, Nova Gold and NovaSim textures, plus my own custom textures. All are available for free at my website, www.lfssd.net (the "l" is an L, not a one). You also should download Rwy12 objects/textures. You don't need the complete Rwy12 program. (See the Rwy12 open letter on Flightsim.com or AVSIM.com search file rwy12_-_open_letter.zip). As mentioned above, you can get the EZ Scenery libraries/textures from Abacus' website at http://www.abacuspub.com/pub/AbacusEZLibraries.exe.(See About the Scenery above for specific library files)
Using the folders switch, unzip the file kfnlscen.zip to the drive where you have your FS. Using your file manager (Windows Explorer) check to make sure that all the files are in their proper folder.
THE FOLLOWING SHOULD GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF WHERE THE FILES FOR THIS SCENERY SHOULD BE LOCATED. pLEASE MAKE A MANUAL CHECK IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE SCENERY.
C:My DocumentsFlight Simulator Files should have the CO - Ft Collins-Loveland Municipal KFNL.flt and CO - Ft Collins-Loveland Municipal KFNL.WX files (This is for the Windows XP users.) For all other OS the .FLT and .WX files are under the main FS folder in a folder called myflts. (I think)
Drive:FS9 folderAddon Sceneryscenery should have AF2_KFNL.bgl (Refer to Default file structure if different)
Drive:FS9 folderSceneryWorldscenery should have TrafficFtCollins.bgl
Drive:fs2k4_scenery or Addon Scenery folderKFNLscenery should have the kfnl_*.bgl scenery files (It's your choice where the KFNL folder goes, under the Addon Scenery folder if you wish or the fs2k4_scenery)
If you have Lago's FSE 2004, then check the following:
Drive:FS9 folderLagoFSEDatashould have FtCollins-Loveland.SE2 for Static scenery and
Drive:FS9 folderLagoCommonTracksshould have FtCollins-Loveland.OSC For dynamic scenery.
Drive:FS9 folderKFNLxmlcontains the Rwy12 xml files for those who need the source files for the Rwy12 objects. If you do not wish to change any of the Rwy12 objects, you can delete these files.
Author's note: There are no xml files with this download.
There is an alternate AFCAD file afcad_nt.zip for a unicom format.
